MEET THE DESIGNER : PAOLITA

Who says you can’t holiday closer to home? Enter London-based warm weather label Paolita.

Featured in Conde Nast Traveller, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, InStyle and Elle to name a few, Anna Paola’s luxury swim and resort wear label is loved for its directional prints, figure-flattering silhouettes and breezy, beautiful pieces that inspire some much-needed sartorial escapism.

The American-born Greece-raised designer founded her brand in 2010, drawing from her cross-cultural upbringing and love of travel to create vibrant swimsuits, bikinis, beach dresses and cover-ups. The collection blends influences, referencing the multicultural buzz of London, the laid-back lifestyle of Greece and the warmth and spirit of South America. Anna hand-draws her one-of-a-kind prints that are energetic, timeless and unique. You’ll often spot her summer-ready looks on the Made in Chelsea cast – and Vogue Williams is a big fan.

MINIMALISTS, MEET YOUR NEW FAVOURITE LABEL

An emerging sustainable label championing slow fashion, A-Line creates trend-defying, minimalist pieces that will form the foundation of your wardrobe.

A-Line’s latest collection is a palette cleanser – think fluid shapes, easy silhouettes and soft tailoring in calming hues of white, cerulean blue, mint green and brassy gold.

The brand is committed to a more conscious, considered offering, creating pieces that are simple yet thoughtfully designed to remain relevant for years to come. The production process is entirely in-house meaning the supply chain is as short as can be, curbing over-production and ensuring a sense of exclusivity for its offering of shirting, dresses and separates. A-Line uses directional detailing to elevate its minimalist pieces – like the crisp, boxy shirts with balloon sleeves.

A-Line is one to note for understated, quietly elegant staples. Here’s why you’ll be wearing on repeat for this season and beyond…

Brava Fabrics has been on a mission to bring more trust, respect and transparency to the fashion industry since launching in Barcelona in 2015.

The brand offers unique wardrobe cornerstones designed with comfort and sustainability in mind, made by hand from low-impact or recycled materials like organic cotton sourced from Spain and Portugal. Brava Fabrics’ fun prints and fresh palette of warm blue, spring green and mustard accents have earned it the attention of fashion editors at GQ, Esquire and The New York Times. “For us, fashion is more than just seasonal it-pieces,” says the team. “We are not chasing the latest trends – our goal is to create timeless and durable pieces that are made to last.”

MEET THE DESIGNER : UZMA BOZAI

We spoke to designer Uzma Bozai about finding inspiration for her eponymous label, watching her playful designs come to life and celebrating artistry.

Uzma’s glitzy slogan sweatshirts shout out important causes like feminism, climate change and social justice in a fun and feisty way.

The embellished pieces are created using traditional techniques, hand-finished by skilled artisans in India. It was during the summers Uzma spent here with her family that she fell in love with colour and embroidery. It takes up to fifteen hours to finish each piece yet it’s this meticulous attention to detail and celebration of time-honoured craftsmanship that makes the cool-girl designs truly stand out against a landscape of fast fashion.

Uzma Bozai’s brand is known for its sassy statement styles in energetic colourways, meeting the current demand for elevated, fashion-forward loungewear. Hear more about how the label came to be.
